Yusei Fudo pulls off a lot of cool combos in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds TV series and some of his tricks with his Synchron monsters are fun and easy to perform at home! Check out the cool moves you can make with some of Yusei’s favorite cards.
Thanks to “Junk Synchron,” Yusei can easily Summon Level 4 and Level 5 Synchro Monsters, including his iconic “Junk Warrior.” “Junk Synchron” is a Level 3 Tuner that can Special Summon any Level 2 or lower monster from your Graveyard in Defense Position. That includes Yusei’s Level 2 “Quillbolt Hedgehog” and Level 1 “Tuningware.” Even though “Junk Synchron” negates the effects of the monsters you Special Summon with it while they’re face-up on the field, you still get to draw a card for the effect of “Tuningware” if you Tune it to “Junk Synchron,” since you draw the card after it reaches the Graveyard. That gives you a quick way to Synchro Summon “Armory Arm” and draw a new card, just like on TV! You can also Special Summon “Tuningware” from your Deck with “One for One” to speed up your Synchro Summons.

Junk Synchron can make for some quick Synchro Summons!

If you want to play more Level 2 monster in your Deck to Special Summon with “Junk Synchron,” you may consider using “Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter.” Yusei Fudo may not use Ryko in the TV series, but he does make a lot of strong plays that involve cards in his Graveyard, and Ryko can help those cards get there.

“Quillbolt Hedgehog” is one of those cards that Yusei loves having in his Graveyard. Since it can be Special Summoned whenever he has a Tuner monster on the field, it can spawn a lot of powerful plays.

While you have “Quillbolt Hedgehog” in your Graveyard, you can Normal Summon “Junk Synchron” and Special Summon another Level 2 monster from your Graveyard. Yusei likes to Special Summon “Speed Warrior” with the effect of “Junk Synchron,” but Ryko may serve you better. With “Junk Synchron” on the field, you can Special Summon “Quillbolt Hedgehog” from your Graveyard at no cost. Now you’re ready to Synchro Summon “Junk Warrior.” If you Tune “Junk Synchron” with the monster it revived to Special Summon “Junk Warrior,” “Junk Warrior” will gain all of the ATK of “Quillbolt Hedgehog.” But why settle for an 800 ATK boost, when you can make your “Junk Warrior” even stronger!

If you strengthen “Quillbolt Hedgehog” with an Equip Spell Card, “Junk Warrior” will gain all of its additional ATK when it’s Summoned. Recently bumped up to Semi-Limited status on the Limited and Forbidden List, “United We Stand” seems like the perfect Equip Spell Card for the job.. “United We Stand” converts the power of teamwork into a huge ATK boost for “Quillbolt Hedgehog” that gets shared with “Junk Warrior.” With “Quillbolt Hedgehog” and “United We Stand,” you can easily Synchro Summon a “Junk Warrior” that has over 4500 ATK!

“Quillbolt Hedgehog” with “United We Stand” to give “Junk Warrior” a huge ATK boost when it’s Summoned!

If you want access to all of Yusei’s Synchro Monsters without running the specific Tuners that create them, you can use “Quickdraw Synchron” in your Yusei-themed Deck. “Quickdraw Synchron” is a Level 5 Tuner that can be treated as any Synchron monster when it’s used in a Synchro Summon. You can discard a Monster Card to Special Summon “Quickdraw Synchron” from your hand, and “Quillbolt Hedgehog” is the perfect monster to discard since you can Special Summon it right back from your Graveyard.

Playing “Quickdraw Synchron” along with a bunch of low-level monsters in your Deck will give you access to Yusei’s most powerful Synchro monsters, including “Road Warrior,” “Drill Warrior,” and “Nitro Warrior,” without needing to make room in your Deck for every single “Synchron” monster.

Using “Quickdraw Synchron” in your Deck will let you Summon “Road Warrior,” “Drill Warrior,” “Nitro Warrior,” and more!

No Yusei Deck would be complete without an easy way to Synchro Summon “Stardust Dragon.” If you’re willing to borrow a play from Zane Truesdale in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, you can use “Cyber Dragon” in your Yusei-themed Deck. Since “Cyber Dragon” is a Level 5 monster that can easily be Special Summoned, you can Tune it to your Level 3 “Junk Synchron” to instantly Synchro Summon “Stardust Dragon.”

If you test out a Deck built around Yusei’s cards, you might be surprised to see how strong it can actually be. But you shouldn’t be surprised to see how much fun it is to use. “Rev it up” and start Dueling to see for yourself!

As we count down the days to the 75th SHONEN JUMP Championship in Edison, New Jersey, one of the top new Decks to keep an eye on is Quickdraw Dandywarrior! This Yusei-inspired strategy packs Quickdraw Synchron and Debris Dragon, Tuning them to Dandylion and its Fluff Tokens to unleash big Synchro Monsters. Strong defense, easy Tribute Summons, and plenty of cool plays make this Deck a serious competitor, so let’s take a look at how it works.

Quickdraw Synchron takes center stage in starting up this Deck’s best combos. By sending Dandylion from your hand to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon Quickdraw Synchron plus two Fluff Tokens (from the effect of Dandylion). From there, you can Tune Quickdraw to a Fluff Token to Synchro Summon Turbo Warrior or Drill Warrior.

Turbo Warrior halves the ATK of Level 6 and higher Synchro Monsters when it attacks them, making it easy to defeat bigger monsters like Goyo Guardian in battle. Its second effect protects it from the effects of Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter and Gladiator Beasts. It can’t even be targeted by the effects of Gladiator Beast Murmillo or Gladiator Beast Gyzarus!

Drill Warrior is different – its first effect lets you avoid battle completely, halving Drill Warrior’s ATK but letting it attack directly for the turn. Its second effect lets you discard a card and remove Drill Warrior from play – it comes back in your next Standby Phase. Here’s why that’s really good for you:

-If your opponent controls a bigger monster, removing the Warrior from play will keep it safe from battle.

-If you halved Drill Warrior’s ATK for its first effect, it’ll return to the field with its original 2400 Attack Points.

-When Drill Warrior returns, you can put any monster in your Graveyard back in your hand. Because the last part of the effect brings that monster back to your hand, your opponent doesn’t get a chance to respond to Drill Warrior’s Special Summon. That protects it from cards that most Duelists like to play, like Bottomless Trap Hole or Torrential Tribute.

The best part is that if you discard Dandylion to remove Drill Warrior, you’ll Special Summon two Fluff Tokens. The Tokens will protect you from attacks, and monsters like Blackwing – Shura the Blue Flame and Flamvell Firedog won’t get their effects if they destroy your Tokens. When Drill Warrior comes back, you can return Dandylion to your hand. Keep discarding the same Dandylion each turn, and you can score plenty of Fluff Tokens to use for Synchro and Tribute Summons. Here are the cards that usually go in this Deck:

Monsters:
Quickdraw Synchron
Dandylion
Lonefire Blossom
Tytannial, Princess of Camellias
