On its own,
Scrap Archfiend is an easy-to-Summon Level 7 Synchro Monster with an unparalleled 2700 ATK! Since it doesn’t require any specific Synchro Materials, you can play it alongside almost any Deck. But for Duelists ready to take up a new Deck,
Scrap Archfiend gets even better.
Jerome already gave you an introduction to the Scrap theme earlier this week, so by now you know that Scrap Decks are all about quick Synchro Summoning thanks to effects that recycle “Scrap” monsters from the Graveyard.
Scrap Chimera can Special Summon a “Scrap” Tuner from your Graveyard, and since Chimera is Level 4, it’s easy to make big Synchro Summons. Setting it all up is easy – try this combo:
Combo Scrapstorm with Scrap Beast or Scrap Goblin to send Scrap Chimera to the Graveyard, draw a card, and bring Scrap Chimera to your hand!
Destroying
Scrap Goblin or
Scrap Beast with
Scrapstorm triggers your “Scrap” Tuner’s effect, getting you a monster back from your Graveyard – like the
Scrap Chimera you just sent there from your Deck with
Scrapstorm. Depending on which Tuner you used, you can then Summon
Scrap Chimera, Special Summon the Tuner, and Synchro Summon a “Scrap” monster immediately.
Remember,
Scrapstorm is a Quick-Play Spell Card, so you can Chain it to your opponent’s cards. If you Summon
Scrap Beast or
Scrap Goblin, and your opponent tries to respond with
Book of Moon or
Torrential Tribute, Chaining
Scrapstorm will let you destroy the “Scrap” Tuner first. That puts your combo into action, getting 2 new cards into your hand while your opponent’s Spell or Trap loses out.
These cards will help you get Scrap monsters to your Graveyeard.
Filling your Graveyard with “Scrap” monsters makes it easier to Synchro Summon with
Scrap Chimera, and creates bigger plays with
Scrapstorm. But thanks to a new World Premiere card, you’ll get even more out of the “Scrap” monsters you throw away!
Guts of Steel is an all-new Spell Card for Scrap Duests. It lets you choose 3 “Scrap” monsters in your Graveyard, and your opponent picks 1 of them. You Special Summon that monster to either side of the field – your choice – and the other 2 monsters get removed from the game.
Guts of Steel lets you Special Summon some fierce monsters!
If you have three big “Scrap” monsters in your Graveyard,
Guts of Steel will let you Special Summon 1 of them.
Scrap Archfiend has 2700 ATK;
Scrap Dragon has 2800 ATK and an effect that can destroy cards every turn; and
Scrap Golem has 2300 ATK, plus it can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Scrap monster from the Graveyard. Even weaker monsters like
Scrap Goblin and
Scrap Beast can be useful, since they’re both Tuners.
The 2 monsters you don’t Special Summon with
Guts of Steel get removed from play, but with cards like
Return from the Different Dimension and
D.D.R. – Different Dimension Reincarnation, you can Special Summon them back to the field. As more new “Scrap” monsters are released,
Guts of Steel is just going to keep on getting better and better and forcing your opponent to make tougher and tougher choices.
The Scrap Deck is all about recycling monsters from the Graveyard to make big attacks, and these 2 new World Premiere cards build on that theme.
Scrap Archfiend gives you a second big monster to Synchro Summon with
Scrap Chimera, and
Guts of Steel gives you another way to make big Special Summons from your Graveyard. Play
Scrap Chimera and
Guts of Steel together on the same turn, and you can overwhelm your opponent with massive monsters! It’s exactly what Scrap Duelists needed.
